Philosophy:
Toxic marriages creates trauma for the entire family. These types of marriages aren't just with substance abusing or violent partners. There can also be a number of mental health issues in one partner that permeates the atmosphere of their home and negatively impacts those who love them most.
I believe in treatment of mind, body, spirit and am an advocate for marriage and children. However, there are some situations where the home environment becomes toxic or poisonous to the health and well being of the whole family.
As a seasoned professional, professor and supervisor, I integrate a number of theories in my work. I believe clients have the ability to heal. My job is to guide them, educate them, give them tools to cope with their stressors, and facilitate healing. |

Practice:
I specialize in working with women and families in toxic relationships and have created a seven step recovery model called Relationship Recovery. In addition to my private practice, I do public speaking, training other professionals. I am adjunct faculty at the Adler School of Professional Psychology. My post graduate training was in Marriage & Family Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR which is a technique that can resolve symptoms related to trauma, anxiety and depression.
