Education:
PhD in Human and Organization Behavior from International University in 2004; Bryn Mawr

Philosophy:
At each moment we are in a process of evolving from who we have been to who we are becoming. My work is an experiential, dialogical and integrative approach to self-discovery and personal growth. Through compassionate understanding, confirmation of each person’s uniqueness, attention to present-moment experience and heightened awareness, we can complete what is unfinished from the past and give way to our emerging creative selves. Understanding how processes can function to sustain disruptive patterns, as well as challenging and supporting the possibilities for creative problem-solving, leads to deliberate actions that transform relationships between people, and between people and organizations.

Practice:
Psychotherapy Services My approach to working with individuals, couples, families, groups and organizations is a practical one. This involves working with what is present in the current moment. Working with the assumption that each person is the producer and director of his or her creative actions, my role is to assist those with whom I work, to uncover the ways by which they inhibit their creative possibilities and performance in living a lively and fulfilling life. We can choose to live reactively (automatic patterns of behaving) or responsively (choosing from an array of available options, with awareness). Through heightened awareness, we can make optimal choices in our moment-moment experience and improve our daily living. Much of the focus of my psychotherapy practice is upon personal growth and development, creativity, performance enhancement, couple and family relationships, grief and loss, stress and trauma, anxiety and loneliness, life transitions, panic and phobias. While grounded in a Gestalt theoretical and philosophical orientation, I draw from various practice methodologies including: cognitive–behavioral therapy, family systems perspectives, psychodynamic therapy, contemplative practices, clinical hypnosis, and interactive group therapy.
